Drylining & Interior Solutions
Drylining
Drylining provides a clean, efficient solution for internal wall and ceiling finishes using plasterboard instead of wet plaster. It’s fast, cost-effective, and highly adaptable—improving fire resistance, thermal and acoustic performance, and providing a smooth base ready for finishing.
Common drylining systems include:
Metal stud partitions
Suspended ceilings (MF, grid systems)
Wall and ceiling linings
Taping & jointing to create seamless surfaces
Optional skim coats or thin plaster finishes for premium results
Suspended Ceilings
Suspended ceilings — also known as secondary ceilings — are hung below the main structural slab, creating a concealed void for housing HVAC systems, electrical wiring, sprinkler pipes, and acoustic treatments. They are perfect for creating a clean, professional look while allowing easy access for maintenance. Available in a variety of finishes and materials, suspended ceilings can also improve acoustic performance and energy efficiency within a space.
Metal & Timber Stud Partitions
Our partition systems are built from lightweight metal or timber studs, finished with high-quality plasterboard cladding. They are versatile and adaptable, suitable for creating new rooms, dividing spaces, improving acoustics, and enhancing fire safety. These partitions can be straight, curved, or specially designed for structural enclosures such as service shafts or soundproof audio walls. Whether in offices, commercial spaces, or residential projects, they offer speed of installation and a flawless finish.
Taping & Jointing
Taping and jointing is the final step in achieving a seamless look for drylined walls and ceilings. Using high-grade joint tape and finishing compounds, we cover all seams, fastener marks, and imperfections, preparing the surface for painting or wallpaper. This process ensures an even, professional finish that is both durable and aesthetically pleasing.
Plaster Finishing
While many drylining projects can be completed without plastering, some interiors benefit from an additional skim coat for an ultra-smooth, decorative finish. Our plaster finishing services are ideal for ceilings, feature walls, or spaces where a refined, polished look is required. We use fine plaster layers to enhance the surface, ready for painting or other decorative treatments.
Partitions
Partitions
At Vertex Contractor, we specialise in both load-bearing Structural Framed Systems (SFS) and non-load-bearing Metal Framed (MF) partition wall systems. These systems are cost-effective, efficient, and suitable for both new builds and refurbishments. Partition walls can be designed for a wide range of applications—from simple room divisions to high-performance walls tailored to specific requirements.
Our expert team provides guidance on wall height, thermal performance, sound insulation, fire resistance, and impact durability. We also work closely with technical departments to ensure the best possible solutions for each project.
Metal Stud Framing
Metal stud framing is a method used to construct non-load-bearing internal partitions, making it ideal for both residential and commercial developments. This system offers several benefits, including fast installation, flexibility for reconfiguration, and significant cost savings compared to traditional masonry construction.
Structural Framing System (SFS)
A Structural Framing System (SFS) is used to build load-bearing internal and external walls. Made from light-gauge, galvanised steel, SFS is a versatile and durable solution for a wide range of construction projects.
At Vertex Contractor, we specialise in external cladding using the Metsec SFS system, which can be finished with various materials such as insulated render, metallic panels, or Corium cladding to create a weatherproof façade. Internally, the walls can be insulated, dry lined, and finished ready for decoration. SFS is also widely used for constructing high separating walls in industrial units, atriums, and large-scale buildings.
Drylining
Drylining involves fixing plasterboard to a metal frame partition, offering a faster and cleaner alternative to traditional masonry. The lightweight nature of drylining provides flexibility for design changes, future expansion, and internal modifications.
The choice of plasterboard determines the wall’s thermal, acoustic, and fire performance. Once installed, the walls can be finished with a tape-and-joint process to achieve a smooth, continuous surface ready for decoration.
Ceilings
Ceilings
There are two main types of ceilings: Metal Framed (MF) Ceilings and Suspended Grid Ceilings.
Metal Framed (MF) Ceilings
An MF ceiling is created by fixing plasterboard to a concealed metal framework, which is attached to the structural concrete soffit above. This design forms a hidden void that can accommodate services such as pipes, cables, ducts, and lighting. MF ceilings are also versatile, allowing for the construction of bulkheads in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Once installed, the plasterboard can be either plastered or finished with paper tape and joint filler. The type of specialised plasterboard selected will determine the fire resistance, acoustic performance, and thermal efficiency of the ceiling.
Suspended Grid Ceilings
Suspended grid ceilings consist of tiles fitted within a metal grid system. Their main advantage is the easy access they provide to concealed services. With a wide variety of tile types and finishes available, these ceilings can be tailored to suit the design and functional needs of any project. In addition to offering fire safety and acoustic benefits, suspended grid ceilings are commonly used in cinemas for sound control, in hospitals for hygiene, and in clean rooms where minimal dust is essential.

Insulation Solutions
Acoustic Insulation
A well-designed acoustic environment enhances the comfort, productivity, and privacy of any space. In schools, students need to clearly hear their teachers; in healthcare, peace and confidentiality are essential; in offices, quiet zones improve focus; and in industrial settings, noise control is often a necessity.
At Vertex Contractor, we provide advanced acoustic insulation solutions that deflect, reduce, and absorb sound. From cavity insulation and suspended ceiling panels to specialist plasterboards in wall partitions, our products are used across education, healthcare, commercial, and industrial sectors — delivering measurable improvements in comfort and functionality.
Thermal Insulation
The right insulation dramatically improves energy efficiency, reduces heat loss, and creates a more comfortable living or working environment. Our drylining systems allow flexibility in choosing the most suitable insulation materials for each project.
We offer cost-effective insulated liners installed using mechanical fixing or adhesive (dot-and-dab) methods. To enhance performance, we seal perimeter gaps with specialist air-tightness membranes and tapes — helping achieve desired U-values, as well as meeting acoustic and fire safety requirements.
Fire Insulation
Fire safety is a critical part of every build. Modern regulations require cavities and concealed spaces to be divided or sealed with cavity barriers or fire-stopping systems to prevent the hidden spread of smoke and flames.
At Vertex Contractor, we supply and install a wide range of Passive Fire Protection (PFP) products to ensure compliance with today’s safety standards. These systems protect concealed voids within walls, floors, and ceilings, providing peace of mind for building owners and occupants.
